These terms are the agreement between you and Matchplay for using the app and website. By creating an account or joining a match, you agree to them. Please read the section on side games and settlement carefully.
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Matchplay app and the matchplay.golf website (the “Services”), provided by Matchplay (“we,” “us”). By using the Services, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don’t agree, don’t use the Services.
You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age in your country) to use Matchplay. Some features, including side-game and settlement tracking, may require you to be of legal age in your jurisdiction. By using the Services, you represent that you meet these requirements.
When using Matchplay, you agree not to:
You keep ownership of the content you create in Matchplay — your profile, matches, scores, and notes. You grant us a limited license to host, display, and process that content solely to operate and improve the Services and to share match content with the players in your matches as described in our Privacy Policy.
Matchplay is a scorekeeping and record-keeping tool. We track results and what your group says is owed. We do not hold, transfer, or process money, and we are not a party to any wager between players.
Side games such as skins, closest-to-the-pin, and personal bets are arranged solely among players. Any stakes, settlement, and payment happen outside the app, through methods you choose. You are responsible for ensuring that any games or wagers you organize comply with the laws of your location. Matchplay is not responsible for disputes, unpaid amounts, or losses arising from games arranged through the Services.
Parts of the Services may be offered as a beta or early-access release. These features are provided “as is,” may change or be removed, and may contain bugs. Early-access feedback you share with us may be used to improve the Services without obligation to you.
The Matchplay name, logo, app, and design are owned by Matchplay and protected by intellectual-property laws. These Terms don’t grant you any right to use our branding except as needed to use the Services as intended.
The Services are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We don’t warrant that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that scores and calculations will always be accurate. Always confirm official results where they matter.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Matchplay will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for any lost profits or amounts owed between players, arising from your use of the Services. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Services will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the prior twelve months or fifty U.S. dollars.
You may stop using the Services and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms or use the Services in a way that could harm Matchplay or other users. Sections that by their nature should survive termination — including content licenses, disclaimers, and limitation of liability — will continue to apply.
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we’ll update the “Last updated” date and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Your continued use after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, and any disputes will be resolved in the courts located there, unless local law requires otherwise.
